Techo team members will be talking about sales information,
their recommended stationery, usage examples, and more.
Hello, Ifm Chie from the Techo team.
How are you enjoying the Hobonichi Techo News so far? Knowing what we all love about the techo has made it even more exciting for me to open my techo daily.
My favorites are the gbutterfly-stopperh pen holders!
Do you know what they are?
«This is what it says in the Hobonichi Techo cover description.
-----
The gbutterfly-stopperh pen holders act as a hinge, keeping the cover safely shut while you store a pen inside.
-----
Thatfs right. These pen holders are the gbutterfly-stoppers.h
I was impressed when I first saw them. Until then, I always struggled with keeping my planner closed and carrying a pen with it, and I finally decided to buy a rubber band and pen holder after wondering for several years. The problem was that the pen holder had to be clipped on the planner, and it left a mark on the cover. There was always something that I worried about.
That was when I knew about the gbutterfly-stopperh pen holders. Imagine how thrilled I was!
Look, the cover that flaps openc
closes when you insert a pen!
It will not open even if I try!
It serves two purposes: carrying a pen and closing the cover!
The other way around is easy, too. You quickly pull out the pen,
and write straightaway!
I hope you now know how wonderful the gbutterfly-stopperh pen holders are.
The Hobonichi Techo has a lot of other charms, such as a wide variety of designs, so you can choose the one that fits your mood of the year or the moment; the many pockets that allow you to carry all sorts of stuff from small things to important notes; and the bookmarks in a different design that fit each cover. All of those features are so lovable.
You can enjoy more about the Hobonichi Techo Cover Basics here.
Stay tuned for the next edition of the Hobonichi Techo News!

Hello, Ifm Shimada from the Techo team.
For this series of gWhat I love about the Hobonichi Techo,h I would like to share some stuff about the paper.
As many of you might already know, the features of the gTomoe Riverh paper used for the Hobonichi Techo include:
gResistant to ink bleedh
gThin but durableh
gEasy ink transferh
I still remember when I first picked up the Hobonichi Techo, what struck me most was the texture of the paper.
Itfs thin but firm with a crispy feel that Ifve never felt before. I thought it was kind of similar to the Japanese gKaishih paper. (Although this is just my personal opinion)
I donft know why but the touch of it makes me want to fold it, and I ended up dog-earing the pages.
We will be starting to use new Tomoe River paper for the 2024 version techo.
The techo will be useful as they have been, and we hope you to enjoy them further on.
Please look forward to the next issue of Hobonichi Techo News!

Hello, Ifm Shiori from the Techo team. In this series of Hobonichi Techo News, we introduce what we love about the Hobonichi Techo. It is fun to know the team membersf favorites since I havenft really heard about it from them before.
My number-one is the design of the techo book; I especially adore the colors. The colors and fineness of the grid lines are exquisite and not too assertive, but have enough presence for you to use them as you like. Let's take the gSecret Lineh that I use to separate the page as an example.
£This is the page for today, so most of it is still blank
I felt like making the left-side area a little bit smaller and decided to shift the line to the left.
The grid lines are modest, so it looks natural even if I draw a new line next to the Secret Line (although I eventually changed it back afterward). The best thing is that all twelve months have differently colored lines, all of which are very calming colors.
£This is what the colors of the year look like.
This delicate use of color is what I like the most.
I keep a diary in my April-start version techo every year, and this year I started using the Weeks book instead of the Original book.
The Opanchu Usagi Weeks book is what I use
The 2-dot timeline on the weekly pages is so convenient!
They make it easy to understand my schedule especially when I move around during the day. It depends on my mood and timetable whether or not I split the day[sometimes I feel like writing what happened, without splitting it.
See you in the next issue of the Hobonichi Techo News!

Hi, Ifm Iwasawa from the Techo team.
The gHobonichi Techo Newsh is brought to you by members of the Hobonichi Techo team. For this series, we share what we love about the Hobonichi Techo.
My favorite part of the Hobonichi Techo is the g180-degree lay-flat binding!h
The way it flops open is so pleasant.
This feature is so plain and unphotogenic, but something I wish all books like novels and essays had. I have always been delighted with how the Hobonichi Techo lays flat when itfs open.
Ifve had a hard time writing on notebooks like ring binder notebooks with bumpy spines, since some parts of the pages are easy to write on while other parts are hard to write on, and the writing becomes disorganized. Writing while holding the notebook with my hand would make it better, but that feels a bit troublesome. This small problem felt quite stressful to me.
Whatfs good about the Hobonichi Techo is that although it is thick, it can still be easily opened 180 degrees, making it easy to write on. I also like the fact that I can keep it open without having to hold it down with my hand, which makes it easy to write and also easy to read what I have written.
As a Weeks book user, I start my work days by checking the dayfs to-dos in my techo and keep the techo open while I work.
The techo is always there next to my computer
I can go through the schedule of my week to find out what work I should do first, or organize some drafts looking at the notes of my ideas. It makes it convenient to do things while taking a look at the techo.
Ifm also pleased with how the techo becomes easier to open as I use it, and I feel like itfs becoming the techo of my own.
Thatfs all for gWhat I love about the Hobonichi Techo!h Please look forward to what the other Techo team members have to say[I canft wait to read them either!

Hello, Ifm Hoshino from the Techo team. In this series, each of us shares what we love about the Hobonichi Techo.
My choice is the hstorageh that holds all kinds of things, including the important and extra ones. When I say hstorage,h it has both the physical meaning of the capability to write and keep a lot of things and a feeling of being able to write about all sorts of stuff, whatever it is about.
The combination of gCousin Avec Books with a zipper-type coverh is what I am using at work for this year.
Let me show you some pictures of how much gstorageh the techo has.
The techo book that can be stuffed with anything from work to notes on what made you happy
(1) Want to keep everything at work in one techo book
(2) Prefer writing in large letters
(3) A lot of space for taking notes
(4) Capable of sticking various items
The Cousin Avec Books are perfect for all four points of the above. The A5 size sheets are large enough to take notes or paste some things on as much as you want, and it is much lighter to carry than a full-year edition since the Avec splits the year into books of six months each.
Weekly page
The weekly pages can be used to manage daily to-dos and the time as a work planner.
Every morning, I write down my to-dos for the day and my schedule of meetings, etc., and use a yellow marker to highlight the time I have to work on my tasks. (I have become a little more conscious of time management than before)
Remember This page
On the cover pages for each month, I like to paste fortune slips,
and notes I received from colleagues that I was glad with.
I enjoy making it represent the month.
One page per day
The A5 size format allows for plenty of writing, and I like to write whatever I feel like writing on the day.
Sometimes it would be rough drafts of the pages Ifm working on, meeting notes,
making scraps,
or pasting nice notes that I received at work and cute candy wrappers.
£This shows how flattered I was when I found my favorite sweet potato brand gBeni Azumah at the supermarket on my way home from work. I hadn't seen it in a long time!
The checkboxes at the top of the pages are great for notes on gWords I learnedh or gLittle happiness of the dayh which are not really related to work, and the gTheme of the Dayh Deco Rush.
šThe storage of Cousinfs zipper type cover
I still use the Hobonichi Techo 2018 gTote Book (Mustard),h which is no longer available on the official website. I love its simple design with plenty of space, and the pockets that hold more than enough stuff.
In the front pocket are stationery and business cards that I often use at work.
£The pocket is deep enough to hold two spare pens and more
I keep meaningful letters that I want to read again from time to time, exhibition flyers and stickers, and handouts for work in the back pocket.
I recommend keeping the letters that you treasure in the pockets. The letter that I have is from someone that took care of me at the company I joined as a new graduate. When I feel down or remember the spirit I started with, I read it over and feel refreshed.
EEE
Since I pack this and that in it, it has become a bit heavy and bulky. But I solved this problem by leaving it at the office when going home.
I put so much in it that it might not look like a techo for work, but the variety of the content makes me realize how strangely interesting it is that work and life are really made up of many different elements.
Itfs the room and storage capacity that allows me to not care about what I put in it, and even keep the extra things in life. The techo is my work partner that is generous enough to let me be myself.

Hello, I am Tsuruki from the Techo team.
In this series of the Hobonichi Techo News, we share with you gWhat we love about Hobonichi Techo!h Each day, a different member of the Techo team will introduce their favorite part of the techo.
What I love about the techo are the gdots and lines.h
Take a look at these dots that are discreetly marked on the weekly page of the Weeks book.
These tiny dots are so subtle that you can write on the page without thinking about them. However, they would come in handy if you use the dots as guides for dividing the day in a rough 2:1 ratio, or to draw a solid line and split the day into three parts.
This year, I started writing in three sections; gDeadlines,h gWork (schedule),h and gPlans (personal stuff).h
Another thing you would find is the gSecret Line,h a single vertical line on the right-hand memo page.
Although you can ignore it when using the page as a whole, it will work as a good guide when necessary.
I use it as a divider for my to-do list. On the right side of the line are the items, and on the left side are the check boxes and the due date. I like to write along this vertical line because it makes the writing neat and easy to read.
I love how the Hobonichi Techo is created with originality and ingenuity like this.
We hope to see you in the next issue!

Hello! I am Komata from the Hobonichi Techo team.
What do you like about the Hobonichi Techo? I guess there are many things, such as the ability to write freely, the replaceable cover, the user-friendly paper and binding, and so on.
In this series, we will have members of the Hobonichi Techo team share what they love about the Hobonichi Techo.
My personal favorite is the daily quotes.
The sentences catch your eye when you open the page of the day. Although they are only five or six lines long, they can tell you what is going on in the world that you donft know yet, or give you a positive tip from an expert in the field. Itfs interesting to see how the same quote can give you a different impression depending on your physical condition or mood when you are reading it.
I used to like reading books of quotes, so my first impression of the techo was, gI can read the Hobonichi Techo like a book of quotes with functions as a planner. What a good deal!h And that is one reason why I started using it.
I am using the One Piece Edition techo for this year, and since I have not been able to read the quotes in the techo carefully, I just flipped through it and picked up the ones I liked.
Various quotes from all kinds of people appear one after another. Itfs nice to have a small gnew encounterh every day.
Flipping through your techo and reading the quotes could be a nice way to spend your time, especially if you find yourself looking at your smartphone in your spare time.
We will be looking forward to seeing you in the next issue!

Happy New Year from the Hobonichi Techo team!
If you're a January-start user, today's they day you can finally start writing in your techo.
Here are some pages on the Hobonichi Techo Official Website to look at / use to make techo time more fun.

If you're stuck on what to actually write in your techo, why not try the "Dear Dicery" out?
Dear Dicery
On this page, you'll be able to roll 2 dice with a click of the button to reveal a topic you can write about that day!

On this page, you'll be able to search by techo type or by usage, so get scrolling!
EEE
For longtime users looking to customize your techo, we have a page with lots of printables.
Download City
Choose a page that you might want to use, download that in a size that matches your techo, print it out, and paste it in your techo to use!

We hope your 2023 techo will be filled with lots of exciting memories!

We have brought you the Hobonichi Techo 2023 preview over the past few weeks, but today, we are finally able to reveal the full lineup to you!
How do you choose which techo to go for every year?
It would be fun to look at each product from the full lineup page, or review the Preview Party page.
Another way would be to look at the Photo Book! You'll be able to see a photo per cover for all the techo covers and Weeks book that joined the lineup from the 2023 lineup as if you're flipping through a magazine.
Head Over to Photo Book page
It does make it harder to decide to see all the photos, but each photo encapsulates the concept of each cover, so simply looking at is exciting!
If you have any covers you're interested in, you can head over to its product detail page by clicking on the "..." button on the bottom right corner. You can also tap the heart button to add it to your favorites list.
There's a week until the lineup is available for sale. I hope you find your perfect companion for 2023!

In the past few "Hello! Download City" series, I've been introducing you to the English version of the Download City, but there's also a Japanese version, which in fact has a wider variety of content available.
Japanese Download City
We are aiming to translate more files from the Japanese page in the future, but in the meantime, I've picked out a few pages that you can start using from the Japanese page that I think might be useful.
Words to Remember
This page allows you to write down important words and phrases you've encountered throughout the year to occasionally look back on. Use the gray area of each block to write down dates or sources.
I've roughly annotated the Japanese here. You can see a preview of what you'll be downloading by clicking on each size of the gray box on the left. You can download by clicking on "Download" with the pink arrow on the right. This is the same for all other pages!
Anything List 100
Here is a list where you can write down 100 things, whether they be things you want to accomplosh this year, movies you'd like to watch or places you'd like to visit at least once in your life. You can tick off things you've accomplished using the check box. If 100 is a bit much for you, there's also a version with just 50 lines.
Please note this one is only available for the A6 Original / Planner size (but you can fold it so it fits the Weeks book). The one on the top is for the 100 version, and the one of the bottom is for the 50.
Storyboard
This sheet is a storyboard for 4 frames. Draw four frame comic strips, use it to come up with a storyline or convey an idea you've come up with with someone else. You can also paste a photo in the frame and write down a text to acompany it on the right.
Favorites
You might recognize this page from the back of your techo book - it's included in all techo types! Keep a record and thoughts of movies you've saw, books you've read, music you've listened to, events you attended all in this list. You can also use it to write down your favorite phrases from a book or movie.
For the A6 Planner / Original and A5 Cousin, we've prepared three types you can choose from, depending on how much you plan to write under each title. The Weeks has just one type.
Lots of space to write
Normal
Keep a short, simple record
Here's a rough annotation. Although the image only includes the A6 Original / Planner, the same goes for the A5 Cousin.
Once you print these pages out, you can cut off the top part that has the Japanese if it bothers you!
We are planning to translate several of the Japanese pages into English, but if there are pages you'd like to see, you can send them in from the City Request Box at the bottom of the Download City page. We'd love to hear your ideas!
You'll see something like this
