Techo team members will be talking about sales information,
their recommended stationery, usage examples, and more.
Hello everyone, Ifm Komata from the Techo Team. Therefs less than a month left in 2025. For our final Techo News of the year, wefre running a special series titled gHobonichi Techo End of Year Reflection 2025,h where members of the team will celebrate the end of the year by flipping through our techos and looking back at how we spent the past year. Please enjoy these real and honest reports from the Techo Team. Now, without further ado, I'll go first!
In 2025, I used the One Piece Edition Original Techo with the Going Merry Logbook leather cover, as well as the Hobonichi 5-Year Techo.
gHerefs to 2025! Cheers!!h
¡Reflection 1
The Techo Appfs print feature is
When it comes to Hobonichi news in 2025, you have to mention the Hobonichi Techo Appfs Japanese release. Ifm both the gcanft write in my techo every single dayh type and the gtakes lots of phone photosh type, so the app—which automatically imports and organizes photos by date—has been a lifesaver. Using the app as reference, I can fill in my 5-Year Techo about once every week or two too.
I tried using the Memory Print feature to print my photos in mini size and stick them into the monthly calendar. I traveled to Bulgaria in October, so it became one of my most memorable months of the year.
I had barely used the monthly calendar until now, and most pages were practically blank—but look! It suddenly looks so lively. I think Ifll keep using this feature next year too.
¡Reflection 2
Donft worry about the white!
Let me reflect a little about work. Ahead of the techo and stationery release on September 1, the team have to come up with all the names, and descriptions. Since therefs a lot of items, in order that I donft make any mistakes, some of my days are just filled entirely with to do lists.
In July, it seems I became a little lazy when it came to writing, and just used it as a to do list or for sticking important memos from work. This is the start of the endless blank pages. But since Ifm both the gblank pages donft bother meh type and the ggo easy on yourselfh type, looking back now I think: gOhhh... we mustfve been really busy then. Good job, me.h (After all, this is a celebration!)
¡Reflection 3
Fan pages Ifm glad I made
Now for some personal highlights.
I really enjoy sticking tickets from exhibitions or events Ifve visited—one glance brings the memory right back.
Herefs a page that Ifm especially proud of. Ifve been absolutely hooked on koalas these past few years, so I visited Poporo-chan, a baby koala born at Kanazawa Zoo last year, and even went all the way to Australia just to see more koalas. When I told
Asako, who is Team Panda, about my koala obsession, she brought back some koala stickers for me as a present. I was thrilled! Of course, I stuck those right into my techo. I hope 2026 brings many more koala-related memories.
***
Therefs been blank pages, pages of scribbly handwriting, and some full of doodles. On the other hand, therefs also been times where Ifve written my techo really neatly too... When I checked over the past 11 months, I noticed that I really didnft have one consistent style. But that makes sense, therefs 365 days in a year, each one a unique and special day youfll only live once. Next year, I'd like it if I can mix my personal and business, and represent each day in my own way!
Thank you for reading my 2025 reflections. Tomorrow, a different member will post their report, so please check back again!

Hi everyone, this is Kawabata from the techo team. For the 2026 edition, we collaborated with Tolight for the very first time. Have you had a chance to take a look? If not, you can find the lineup here.
This time, Ifd like to share more about how Tolight began and the behind-the-scenes story of how these covers were made—things we havenft been able to fully talk about until now.
The Tolight covers and Weeks feature lush, vivid flowers painted in acrylics. Theyfre filled with the lively charm of plants in full bloom.
- Tolight: Garden of Botany - Original Size (A6)
- Tolight: Garden of Botany - Cousin Size (A5)
- Tolight: A Bright Year - Weeks
Tolight: a brand built around the designers' own drawings.
The botanical artwork printed on the covers was created specifically for the Hobonichi Techo by Tolight designer Mei Aoyama.
Tolight officially launched in 2021. Their work—painting flowers onto vintage clothing and furniture to give these items a new life—quickly drew a great deal of attention. From the Tolight x Journal Standard pop up (Sales ended)
Herefs a one-of-a-kind used jacket with plants painted directly onto it in acrylic. The delicate yet vibrant botanical artwork adds a wonderful sense of depth to the chic, dark-toned jacket.
They also work on an art initiative called the RE BLOOMING PROJECT, painting on unused buildings to create spaces that bring people together.
Tolight treats all kinds of surfaces as canvases, breathing new life into them through paint. But why did they start painting plants in the first place?
Aoyama explains: gThe beginning was during the stay-at-home period of the pandemic. I felt very low at the time, and wanting to feel even a little brightness or hope, I drew a flower on a wine glass I was about to throw away and displayed it. Flowers are a universal, timeless motif that anyone—regardless of age, gender, or country—can feel close to. Ifm drawn to the way they seem to hold the warmth of sunlight within them.h
Capturing the vivid colors and brushstrokes of acrylic painting in a techo cover.
Annen, who oversaw this collaboration on the Hobonichi Techo team, was deeply inspired by Tolightfs work and proposed the project. She experimented with many approaches to preserve the vivid colors and expressive brushstrokes of Aoyamafs original artwork.
She explained, gFor the cover made with Gentle Plaid fabric, we used transfer printing to recreate the glossy texture of the artwork.h
gI tried combining the fabric and illustration data, testing prints that blended more with the material, and many other methods. After a lot of trial and error, we arrived at a glossy printing method that really brings out the texture of the flowers.h
gWhen the sample print arrived, I adjusted the colors, shading, highlights—many details—to bring it closer to the original artwork. In the end, I think we were able to create a cover that really preserves the lively touch of the piece,h said Annen.
For the Weeks, we printed the flowers using glossy silk screening over a matte-textured cover. Can you see the sheen of the petals and leaves?
The entire front cover boldly features the floral artwork, with no g2026h printed on it. According to Annen, the aim was a simple design that glets you feel as though youfre carrying the flowers themselves with you.h
On the spine, the message g2026 YEAR OF BLOOMh shines subtly—chosen with the wish for a bright, blossoming year.
Tolightfs techo brings a sense of brightness to your daily life and your time spent with your notebook. Itfs a wonderful companion for welcoming a new year.
You can see the Tolight lineup on the store here.

Hello, Ifm Higashi from the techo team. Isnft it so much fun to see everyonefs Techo Kaigi? After reading all of my teammatesf posts each day, I finally decided on my own techos for next year!
Every year, I usually just pick whichever techo feels right at the time, so this is actually my first proper Techo Kaigi. I started by reflecting on how I used my techo in 2025 and thought about how Ifd like to use it next year, noting down whatever came to mind. My reflections are on the left, and on the right are photos of the techos I want to use and how Ifll use them.
As I gradually organized my thoughts, I decided to use three techos in 2026: one for my diary, one for hobby tracking, and one for work. Allow me to introduce some of my favorite points about each, and how I'm planning to use them!
Diary
Kyohei Sakaguchi: Field Sky [A5 Cousin Size]
Just looking at Kyohei Sakaguchifs pastel sky illustration gives me a calm, peaceful feeling.
The cover has a soft, smooth texture, and every time I hold it, it makes me a little happy. I plan to set the Cousin book inside and write freely about my day, my plans, and little everyday moments.
Since the Cousin is quite heavy, I always debate whether to go with the Avec books instead, but I want the feeling of getting to the end of the year and seeing how few pages are left. The yearfs almost over already...!
After much deliberation, I finally decided on using the regular Cousin book. Ifm already looking forward to next fall.
Hobby Tracker
Makoto Matsubayashi: Dot [Weeks]
iyo okumi: Hobonichi Pencil Board (Happy Tea Time)
I thought this design for the Weeks was beautiful the second I saw it. Each dot is hand-drawn, so theyfre all slightly different sizes and shapes. Finding the little flower shapes hidden among them makes me happy too.
I plan to use this one to log my hobbies—books I read, places I want to go, travel plans, and notes from events. I think itfs perfect for collecting all the things Ifm interested in.
I chose iyo okumifs Happy Tea Time pencil board to go with it. The black characters living in a forest utopia somehow match the color of this techo—it just felt right, so I picked it on instinct.
Work Techo
Tolight: A Bright Year [Weeks]
Even the brand card that comes with purchase is adorable.
For work, I chose this Weeks with its bold floral cover. Each time I open it, I think itfll give me that little extra spark to do my best. The flower motif has a glossy shine to it.
Ifll use it for schedules, to-do lists, and also jot down new ideas and things I want to try—anything that helps me grow in my work.
Stationery to use with my techos
gTSUKI no IROh stationery
The 2026 lineup's new TSUKI no IRO stationery series really caught my attention, so I bought the items interested me the most. The calm, muted colors make them easy to use in all sorts of ways, and buying them all together like this just makes me excited.
Thank you so much for reading all of our Techo Kaigi 2026 posts. You can catch up on any you missed on this page, so please take a look if you there are any you missed.

Hello, Ifm Airi. I'm new to the techo team this year. Ifve been carrying out Techo Kaigi after Kaigi since August, and finally decided on my choices for 2026.
Here they are, ta-da!
Wow! I didnft realize I had this many until I lined them up.
When I couldnft decide, I just went ahead and bought it. If Ifm going to get it eventually, the earlier the better, right? After all, if you think of it as a per-day cost, itfs actually cheaper the sooner you start using it! Especially when just owning them makes me happy.
Herefs what I plan to write in each of them.
It was initially really messy, but I tidied it up to show to everyone.
Diary: Techo Type: Cousin (Avec) / Monthly Calendar: One word diary (I wanna try drawing), Things done (Topics) / Weekly Calendar: / Daily Page: Diary, decoration / Memo: List of recipes I liked / Bonus: Topics (things I've gained).
Body tracking (positive): Techo Type: Weeks / Monthly Calendar: How I feel (face sticker), habit tracker (wellbeing ver.) / Weekly Calendar: Sleep tracking, weather, wellbeing, Thanks/Happy/Done / Daily Page: / Memo: Stretching, pressure points / Bonus: Weight (tracked on graph paper).
Work techo : Techo Type: HON [A6] / Monthly Calendar: Tracking work hours, monthly objectives, achievements / Weekly Calendar: / Daily Page: Daily objectives, Todo list, notes / Memo: / Bonus.
Input techo (reading log + more): Techo Type: Weeks Mega / Monthly Calendar: Calendar of books read, habit tracker (input ver.), event schedule / Weekly Calendar: Input log, opinions & thoughts, quotes, output / Daily Page: / Memo: Detailed notes on input / Bonus: My 100 list (books read), time table (contents update schedule).
(NEW) Bullet journal + misc: Techo Type: HON [A6] / Monthly Calendar: Rough plans, birthdays, monthly goals + achievements / Weekly Calendar: / Daily Page: Daily goals, todo list, notes / Memo: Self-love ( first, second, third class) / Bonus: My 100 list (Things I want to do), Weekly techo (daily plans).
(NEW) Fan techo: Techo Type: HON[A6] / Monthly Calendar: Birthdays, event schedule / Weekly Calendar / Daily Page: / Memo: Event log, lyrics, quotes.
Here are my techos that I used this year.
People are often surprised that I use two HONs with the same design.
I introduced how I use them in these posts below:
Diary: X
Reading log: YouTube
Body tracking (positive) techo: Instagram
Work techo: One Question, Three Answers
Sorry for sending you jumping around the internet, but I share different ways to enjoy the Hobonichi Techo in all kinds of places, so Ifd be really happy if you took a look! Ifll be showing how I use my 2026 techos in lots of different forms too.
Recently, thanks to the Hobonichi Techo App Ifve been able to memo the things I want to write in my techo without forgetting and the memory print feature helps make filling out my reading log easier. Itfs such a reliable companion for my techo.
My tags look like this at the moment. I match them to the topics I write about a lot in my techo.
Ifve added two more techos for 2026, but I have a good feeling Ifll be able to keep up with them all...!
----------
Since the lineup was announced, Ifve been watching everyonefs Techo Kaigi posts on social media so it feels like we've been holding our Kaigi together! Itfs been so much fun. If this Techo News managed to share even a little bit of that joy with you, Ifd be so happy.
My theme for 2026 is gEnjoy my techo to the fullest.h To help everyone enjoy their techos, Ifll start by enjoying mine with all my heart!
Look forward to tomorrowfs Techo News!

Hello, Ifm Komata from the techo team. On this page, wefve been sharing the Techo Kaigi sessions of different team members every day. This time, I held my own to decide which planner Ifll be using in 2026.
Ifve been using the One Piece edition techo since 2023, so I thought I'd continue again this year but then... I saw The Little House-inspired HON, which was so lovely, and then 100%ORANGEfs Squirrel Squadron cover, which was so cute too! I couldn't stop teetering between them.
In the end, I decided on the gHirilukfs Cherry Blossomsh HON. That deeply moving episode is expressed in a beautifully woven design, with snow, cherry blossoms, and the moon creating an almost dreamlike scene. I love that it also includes extra pages like the One Piece timeline, trivia, and even a fluffy animal encyclopedia!
For my pencil board, I picked the Memories - Punk Hazard design, because of the cute tab at the top. There are also so many new stationery items coming out, so Ifm planning to add a few more to my collection soon!
By the way, I used to be a Weeks and Weeks Mega user. I kept both my work and personal schedules in one notebook. Seen in the photo are my techos from 2019 to 2023.
When the One Piece edition came out in 2023, I switched back to the Original A6 sized book for the first time in a while.
Since moving to the Original from the Weeks, I began pasting things more often than before. When I finish the year and see the pages all puffed up, it feels like proof that itfs been a full and happy year. I really love that.
I paste in things like travel memories, museum tickets, fortunes from shrines, candy wrappers, or sticky notes from work—little souvenirs of my year. For 2026, I hope to fill this HON with lots of wonderful memories, too!
Look forward to the next Techo Kaigi too!

Hello, Ifm Shioguchi from the techo team. Is everyone enjoying these Techo Kaigis? I was surprised to see so many Avec and Day-Free users this year. Itfs fascinating to read about everyonefs reasons for choosing their particular setups.
Herefs my lineup for 2026.
Next year, Ifll be using one less notebook than 2025 for a total of four techos.
For Work
Paper Series: Sky [Weeks] + Leather: Taut (Gray & Light Blue) Cover I like to slide in the back cover of my Weeks so I can still enjoy the cover design.
Ifve been using the same Weeks + Weeks cover setup this year, and itfs been such a perfect fit that Ifve decided to continue with it in 2026. The Taut Weeks cover is similar to the B-Jirushi Yoshida's Passport cover I used for years, so I instantly picked it up as its successor. Itfs slim and compact and I love how easy it is to carry. The inside is a lovely pale blue too, so I paired it with the Paper Series: Sky Weeks. This might be the first time Ifve ever chosen my Weeks book based on the color of the cover!
There are other light-blue options, but the Sky Weeks matched the cover perfectly and, honestly, I was drawn in by that sparkling design.
I mainly use this for task management. I list everything I need to do for the week on the right-hand page, then distribute them across the left-hand schedule as I go. I love that I can keep it open on my desk without it taking up too much space.
Scheduling + Hobby Logging
Paper Series: Black Gingham [Weeks]
This year, I used two separate planners for my personal life—a PAMM for scheduling and a Colors for hobby notes. For 2026, I want to consolidate both into one: the Paper Series: Black Gingham Weeks. I plan to put it in a clear cover and slip in stickers and photos.
Objective Tracking + Journaling
Paper Series: Black Gingham [HON A5]
This will be my third year using a techo for goal tracking and journaling, I've used the A5 HON the whole time. This year, I used the Black Gingham and plan to continue using it next year too.
The Black Gingham HON has a slightly thinner, softer cover than the other versions, which makes it feel more like a notebook. Itfs casual and easy to write in, which I love.
I write down what I want to do over the year, list out goals, and gather related thoughts and tasks all in one place. Ever since I started using my techo this way, I feel like Ifve really cut down on wasted time.
Diary
Hobonichi 5-Year Techo
Ifve been using the 5-Year Techo as a diary for four years now. I fell a bit behind this year, but the Hobonichi App has given me a second wind.
That wraps up all the techos I plan to use in 2026. It wasnft intentional, but I ended up choosing all from the Paper Series. Theyfre lightweight, and I love their understated, minimalist designs—perfect for someone like me.
Stationery
Here are the stationery items I picked up.
TSUKI no IRO: Translucent Sticky Notes I use mini sticky notes to jot down tentative plans.
As a fan of mini sticky notes, I was thrilled when these came out.
Before, I used to rely on mini notes from the 100-yen shop, but they varied in thickness and were awkward to carry around. These solved all my problems—I'm going to be a repeat buyer for sure!
TSUKI no IRO: Add-on Sticky Notes I prefer placing them near the middle of the page, where I can still write over them easily.
These are a lifesaver when I need a bit more space in my work Weeks.
ONE PIECE magazine: Rotating Stamp for the Techo - One Piece Sanby x Hobonichi
I donft really decorate my techo, so I bought this item to push myself. That said, I bought it more for practical use than decoration. I plan to use it mainly in my HON and my hobby Weeks.
Itfs perfect for marking logs and plans—and I love the subtle design!
Moomin: Hobonichi Ink-Absorbing Paper
I use a fountain pen in my 5-Year Techo, so Ifll be using this with it. Itfs quite thick, so I might even add a bit of perfume or essential oil to it—it would be lovely to have a faint fragrance when opening the pages.
Ifm sure Ifll end up picking up a few more things, but for now, this is my lineup.
Look forward to tomorrowfs Techo Kaigi too!

Hello, Ifm Ogawa from the domestic sales team. Have you already decided on your techo for 2026? Today, Ifd like to introduce the techo and stationery items Ifll be using next year.
Ifve tentatively decided on these!
I havenft decided on all of the covers yet.
Ifm planning to continue using the same three types of techo Ifm using this year. At the start of 2025, I only had one, but as the months went by, that number gradually increased. Ifll introduce each techo and the stationery I use with them, one by one.
-------------------------------------------------
1. Diary (Planner + Cover + Stationery)
The first one is my diary, which I use at home. My diary techo set for 2026.
In 2025, I used the Black Gingham HON, but since I pasted in all sorts of things—tickets, clothing tags, snack wrappers, anything I wanted to keep as a memory—itfs gotten quite thick. I definitely stuck in too much.
The Black Ginghamfs paper cover is soft and flexible, so itfs holding up somehow, but I doubt other HON covers would fare as well. Thatfs why Ifd been torn between sticking with the HON or switching to a techo with a cover.
While I was still deciding, I joined the YouTube gHobonichi Techo 2026 New Lineup Showcase LIVEh, where I saw the Tolight cover. The vivid floral colors and the brushstrokes that radiate life instantly captivated me. Since I used to work with flowers, I felt an immediate connection—and decided right then and there that I had to use it!
¥You can find the video here. (Japanese only)
Knowing myself, my techo will definitely get thicker toward the second half of the year, so I chose a book that would still look good even if it canft fit in the cover anymore. The Plannerfs luxurious black cover with gold foil stamping feels refined and reliable. The black cover with gold foil stamping looks so elegant.
When that time comes, Ifll use the freed-up cover as a book cover instead—the A6 size seems very versatile. As for stationery, Ifll be pairing it with the GLOO Roller Tape and a Moomin pencil board. Ifll use the tape to attach things, and the pencil board to make it easier to write afterward. Since the cover has a floral motif, I think the nature-themed Moomin art will match nicely.
2. Work Techo (Cousin Avec)
The second one is for jotting down notes at work. Ifve got the techo itself, but Ifm still deciding on the cover.
In early 2025, I used a single techo for both work and personal life, but from July onward, I added the Cousin Avec Book 2. Itfs slim and easy to use, so in 2026 I plan to use the Avec from the start. My 2025 work techo and pencil board.
I often manage tasks digitally, but just like laying out tools on a workbench, writing down my gtodayh and gnexth tasks in my techo helps me focus on whatfs right in front of me.
The Cousinfs generous page size also comes in handy when a sudden phone call comes in—I can jot down notes right away.
3. Writing Techo (Day-Free A5)
The third one I chose is the large A5 Day-Free because the size will allow me to write longer pieces freely on whatever themes I like. Just the techo for now—no cover yet.
I still have some blank pages left in my 2025 version, but I decided, gIfm going to write even more in 2026!h—so I picked up a new Day-Free early.
I like to decorate my pages by adding washi tape and stickers to the edges, and using date frame stickers in matching colors. Itfs my own simple way of decorating. Simple decoration done my way.
If youfre also using the Day-Free, I highly recommend the date frame stickers. They come in so many designs so it's fun just choosing which ones to use!
4. Bonus (Stationery)
Up until now, everything Ifve chosen has been in conjunction with my techo, but this is different. This onefs purely from the heart—I couldnft resist getting Yumi Kitagishifs stickers. There are 30 different illustrations! Isnft that amazing? Even the red background sheet looks adorable.
I plan to use them as reward stickers for myself whenever I accomplish something special.
-------------------------------------------------
Thank you for reading about my techo selections and please look forward to tomorrowfs Techo News too.

Hello, Ifm Ayumi from the international team.
The Hobonichi Techo Meeting Caravan is an event where Hobonichi Techo users and stationery lovers gather to share and enjoy talking about their techos together.
In October 2025, the caravan made its way to Los Angeles, California. Letfs take a look at what happened!
The event took place at HIGHTIDE STORE DTLA, located inside the 30-acre urban enclave ROW DTLA in downtown Los Angeles.
The store has a nostalgic charm, filled with a delightful selection of playful stationery, original products, and carefully curated goods from across the U.S. and around the world.
We held two sessions this time, with a total of seven participants. Ifd like to give a big thank-you to everyone who joined us!
With the meeting underway, we started with self-introductions and an overview of Hobonichi, presented with the help of a handmade picture book.
Then came the main part of the event: everyone brought their own techo(s) and shared how they use it.
Conversations naturally began to flow:
gIfve always wanted to know more about the Stappo and Drawer Pouches!h
gWhat size do you find easiest to use?h
Which led to cheerful exchanges of ideas like:
gI use this size.h
gYou can fit so much in there!h
Everyone also had fun chatting with each other about things like:
gWhat do you do on days when you donft write anything?h and
gDo you have any tips for continuing every day?h
They shared creative ideas and personal tricks which sparked moments of inspiration for everyone. Listening to them made me want to try their ideas in my own techo right away!
There are truly endless ways to use the Hobonichi Techo.
One participant showed us a collage of cards and stickers collected during their travels.
Another person sticks their gmust-do tasks for the weekh onto their HON pencil board so that itfs always visible.
Someone else managed to fit their schedule, as well as records of their hobbies—like music, books, and games—into their Weeks.
Seeing everyonefs techos filled with personal touches and stories was such a joy. Here are some memorable comments that made me smile during the meeting:
gSometimes the daily quote perfectly matches what I experienced that day—it feels like Ifm having a conversation with the book.h
gEven a blank page tells its own story.h
gMy way of using the techo changes every year, which makes looking back at old ones even more fun!h
Hearing all their stories showed me how each person has their own relationship with the Hobonichi Techo and how it blends into their daily life in different ways. We were able to spend an uplifting and wonderful time together.
Finally, we took a commemorative photo to wrap up the event.
Once again, thank you so much to everyone who participated and helped make this happen! It was truly heartwarming to hear your Hobonichi Techo stories.
We plan to continue the Hobonichi Techo Meeting Caravan not only in Japan but also around the world. If we ever come to a city near you, please come join us!

Hey, my namefs Liam, and Ifm new to the Hobonichi Techo team too. Ifm mainly involved in various JP-ENG translations, as well as managing the English mail newsletter.
Ifve been using the Hobonichi for over six years now (I think?), but I have to admit—this is the first time Ifve ever actually sat down and thought about what to buy... my very first Techo Kaigi.
See, Ifm typically quite impulsive, especially when it comes to making purchases. Before moving to Japan, Ifd browse the Hobonichi Online Store, buy anything that tickled my fancy then figure out how to use them later—or give them away as gifts to friends.
---------------
I started out with the Original, which I used to practice kanji and write Japanese sentences every day. As my Japanese improved, so did my relationship with the techo, and it gradually became my daily diary.
ªAn example from my 2019 techo. Ifd sit and write these for hours... ±¯éÀèw¯xÍÈ¢B (gAs long as you keep going, therefs no defeat.h) Heck yeah.
When the One Piece Original came out, I immediately switched to that. The following year, I wanted to keep using it but missed the traditional daily quotes, so I ended up writing in both the Cousin and Original every day (yes, both as diaries). To be completely honest though, that only lasted for a little while. After moving to Japan and getting busier, Ifve seriously struggled to keep up with both.
But looking around the office, and seeing all the amazing and fun ideas on the gHow to Use Ith page, inspired me to try again. While Ifve since found a somewhat working relationship with both of them, that delicate balance is about to be tested...
Let me introduce you to my 2026 selection!
ªWhen and how did I end up with all these One Piece goods...?
---------------
The Techos
•Hobonichi Techo 2026 Original - One Piece Edition [A6]
•Hobonichi Techo 2026 Cousin Avec Books [A5]
•ONE PIECE magazine: Hirilukfs Cherry Blossoms [Weeks]
Like I mentioned earlier, Ifm using both the Original and the Cousin.
I use the Cousin as a personal diary and the Original has recently become my go-to for work and other notes. I also carry around small notepads to jot things down whenever inspiration hits—like when Ifm on the train or reading. But I think in 2026 I can do this a bit better...
First, I tend to stick all kinds of things into my Cousin, so it ends up pretty thick. Even so, I still take it everywhere with me—I love writing in cafés. Thatfs why next year, Ifd like to try the slimmer Avec series.
Secondly, until I joined Hobonichi, Ifd never actually seen someone using a Weeks. But now that I have, I can tell itfs perfect for keeping track of daily tasks and small notes.
Which, as youfll notice, leaves the Original without a role again... and this, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly why buying on impulse can be a problem.
ªScenes from Tobichi. You can understand my difficulty now, right? All that stuff I want just lined up...
See, I only went to Tobichi to see their latest exhibition. But that shop has a strange effect on me—itfs like stepping into another dimension. No matter my intentions, I always leave with something I hadnft planned to buy but end up loving anyway.
Thatfs where I first laid eyes on the Dr. Hirulukfs Cherry Blosssoms Weeks. Before I knew it, I was standing in line with both the One Piece Original A6 and Weeks in tow.

•TSUKI no IRO: Uniball One 0.38mm - Set of 6 with Case Jan-June Set / July-Dec Setj(Not shown in the photo)
•ONE PIECE magazine: Stappo (Grand Line)
•And many more!@
Over several visits to Tobichi recently, Ifve gradually picked up more and more stationery. On my last trip, I bought the Sparkling Silver gOld Guysh Sticky Notes and One Piece Pochitto6. Before that, it was the Square Letter Paper to Share Your Feelings Vol.2, and another time, Vol.3.
I think I need to stop going to Tobichi by myself... it's not good for my bank account.
How I use them
Lately, Ifve been writing lots of letters to friends, and itfs been fun to add a bit of humor and punch to them with these different stickers.
ªTherefs something about these strong old characters that makes them perfect for Taro Okamotofs quotes.
I like to write random quotes on the sticky notes and square letter paper—sometimes as conversation starters, sometimes to make a point, and sometimes just for laughs.
ªI stuck this on a letter to my friend who was visiting the World Expo in Osaka.
Stamp with Gusto!ªI've got a DON! for any occasion.
I picked up the Pochitto6 (One Piece). I really didnft need it—I already have the ONE PIECE Magazine: Stick It with Gusto - DON!! Sticker Set and the Hobonichi Stencil - One Piece—but after testing the Pochitto6 in person, I was moved by the richness of the colors. Itfs genuinely fun to stamp with gusto!

Finally, I ordered the TSUKI no IRO 12 Pen Set online, though they haven't arrived yet. I tried these too when they were on display at Tobichi and was really impressed with the soft colors. In the past, Ifve played around with color combinations, but I always had trouble, either I liked the color but not the writing feel, or vice versa.
I think these are just right.
Wait... am I Goldilocks?
Still, I donft have to worry about where to keep them—Ifve got my trusty Stappo (Grand Line) to store them in!

And that about sums up my 2026 Techo Kaigi.
Come back tomorrow to see the next one.

Hello! My name is Kawamura, and Ifm a new member of the Hobonichi Techo team. I mainly work on writing content for the Hobonichi Techo Magazine. And after only six months on the team, I held my first ever Techo Kaigi! After much careful deliberation, herefs what I bought:
An Original size Avec & Day-Free
Alongside my work at Hobonichi, I also do some editing, so this year Ifve been using:
• HON: for Hobonichi work
• Weeks: for all other work
• Avec: as my private diary and notebook Ifve used the user manual that came with my techo as the cover of my Avec, so it looks just like a paperback book.
Still, as someone who likes to travel light, carrying both the HON and the Weeks around has been a bit of a challenge. For the past ten years or so, Ifve used planners with a weekly-left layout like the Weeks. This year marked my first time using a page-per-day techo—and I was taken by how easy it is to use! I've been deeply enjoying it for half a year now. Thank you, everyone. Thank you, page-per-day.
That's why for 2026, Ifve decided to use the Original-size Avec as my main, with the Day-Free as a sub.
My first Techo Kaigi had been going smoothly until I hit one question: Which should I pick for my first ever cover? I spent a month and a half gazing at the Hobonichi Store, checking the stockroom, and wandering around Tobichi. Then after long deliberation, there was something about a particular cover—the gracious, confident lines that become this primitive and calming floral design...
I chose Makoto Matsubayashifs gSilver Flowers!h Until now, I would tuck postcards and stamps into my bag or between books, but now they have their own proper place.
In the past—actually, up until the start of this year—Ifd buy my techo at the end of the year or right after the new year began. But being in the techo team, where the question of gWhich one are you getting next year?h starts popping up as early as September, it already—for me—feels like December. And now that Ifve bought my techo, I can't shake that festive New Yearfs mood.
What cover should I use for my personal diary next year?
Should I use the user manual + Original again? Or maybe the Bow & Tie: Galloping Horses HON since it's my zodiac year?
Seems like my Techo Kaigi is far from over...
Anyway, please look forward to tomorrowfs post!
