This cover is customers’ favorite from the Hobonichi Techo 2017 edition.
This cover features a beautiful Liberty Print textile from the venerable British fabric brand Liberty Fabrics. Lucy Locket is a fine, floral design based on a Liberty fabric from 1930’s. In 2012, the flowers of the original design were reduced to a smaller size, and the design was reintroduced into the Eternal Collection, a collection of standard designs popular in Japan. Lucy Locket appears on Liberty Fabrics’ own "Tana Lawn" material, a meticulously processed cotton fabric with vibrant colors and a uniquely silken feel.
The beige faux-leather interior and pen holder complete the cover’s elegant look.
Liberty London Fabrics is a fabric brand from England founded in 1875 by Arthur Lasenby Liberty (1843-1917), who discovered the beauty of Japanese art during a World’s Fair in London in the 19th century. The company originated as a small import shop with oriental ornaments and fabrics. The delicate silk and intricate hand-dyed art were praised by followers of the Aesthetic Movement, and in the 1880’s, Liberty began printing high-quality cotton textiles as a way to recreate sturdy versions of the delicate Eastern silks. In the 1920’s, Liberty developed their original “Tana Lawn” cotton material which feels and looks like silk and has a lightweight structure that allows it to drape beautifully. This is the origin of Liberty, which has created intricate prints bursting with color and complex designs ever since.

In order to provide you with the most satisfaction for your product, we've compiled a list of warnings, potential issues, and tips to keep in mind for this particular product. Please be sure to read this information carefully before placing your order.
Each item is individually assembled and sewn by hand by a factory worker. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but there may be slight differences.
This material is first printed or dyed and then later sewn onto the cover. While colors are designed to be consistent, there may be uneven coloring or slight shade variances between covers. This may also happen across a single cover, such as a pocket compared to the rest of the cover. In addition, on rare occasions, there may be small black or white dots visible on the print. This is an unavoidable aspect of the manufacturing process.
The patterned fabric has not been aligned to a specific layout, so the placement of each design will vary by product. The product will not be an exact replica of the one in the product photographs.
When this cover is open flat, exterior stitching areas may appear puckered and lining material may be loose.
The pen holders are rigid at first, making it difficult to insert pens. You can speed up the breaking-in process by rolling the pen holders in your hand.
The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2 mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free bonus gift with select Japanese-version Hobonichi Web Shop products. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5 mm (0.53”) in diameter.
This cover uses thicker materials than usual, so it may not fit. Forcing it into a Cover on Cover may damage the products.
Please avoid storing your product in hot, humid places or placing it atop other objects for long periods of time as this may result in lower quality and color stains.
