This Haramaki features a polar bear illustration by Izumi Shiokawa. The illustration was first featured in a polar bear exhibit hosted in 2021 at Hobo Nichoyobi, Hobonichi’s event space.
Similar to the techo cover, the haramaki shows Shiokawa's drawing of two young polar bear cubs being held by their mother. The back of the haramaki also shows energetic polar bear cubs. The design has a light blue-gray base with cream-colored lineart.
The Haramaki is woven from all-original material Hobonichi created from cotton especially for the Hobonichi Haramaki. It’s called “Stretchy Towel Knit,” named after the way it feels soft and gentle against your skin, much like a towel blanket. The material provides a perfect fit and has excellent breathability because it’s made of cotton, so it’s comfortable to use year-round. If you sit for extended periods of time or sleep in a spot with a strong path from the air conditioner, we recommend wearing the haramaki to prevent your belly from getting too chilled. There are many health benefits to keeping your belly warm, so we welcome you to try out a haramaki (“belly wrap”) for yourself.
See here for more details about the Hobonichi Haramaki. (Japanese only)
