Keiko ShibataGentle breeze in a dandelion fieldA5 Size (fits Cousin)

  • 2024 New
  • ON SALE FEB 1

Keiko Shibata’s unique artwork has now become Hobonichi Techo covers. “Gentle breeze in a dandelion field” is one of the works drawn in 2022 on the theme of “wind.”

The fluff is carried far away at night on the breeze that blows softly in the dandelion field. The bear and the cat are gazing enraptured at this beautiful scene.

The artwork is printed on a textured polyester fabric to bring out the warm touch of the oil pastel drawing. Each fluffy fluff is depicted all over onto the back of the cover. You will also notice the bear and the cat’s gaping open-mouth expressions.

The dandelion fluff fluttering in the night sky expands over the cover and the “butterfly-stopper” pen holders.

The card pockets in the inner cover also have the dandelion fluff in the night sky printed on them. The two bookmarks are white and light green, with charms reminiscent of dandelion flowers and fluff.

On the left side pocket, you will find Keiko Shibata’s autograph printed.

We also have an A5 size “Hobonichi Pencil Board” printed with Keiko Shibata’s “Swaying tulips” artwork.

There are many more items for our collaboration with Keiko Shibata! The techo covers are the A6 size “Bread floating in the wind,” the A5 size “Gentle breeze in a dandelion field,” and the Weeks size “Fluffy floating kittens“ designs. The Hobonichi Pencil Board comes in three sizes: the A6 size “Upwind alpacas,” the A5 size “Swaying tulips,” and the Weeks size “Wind gust during a Stay command” designs. The Hobonichi Plain Notebook comes in two sizes, A6 and A5, in the “Who is it?” design. You can also enjoy Keiko Shibata’s original letter paper, message card, and letter set. All the items are unique and charming enough to experience the world of Keiko Shibata.

Keiko Shibata Official Website

Animals drawn by Keiko Shibata are all so lovable.

We loved how humorous Keiko Shibata’s artworks were and had always hoped to collaborate with her someday.

In the 2023 edition, we created the PANDOROBOU “Bread Thief” design techo and Stappo as the Loft Exclusive items. For this edition, we have selected artwork from Keiko Shibata’s past.

The “wind” series of artworks, many of which were displayed at the exhibition held at the Hobonichi’s Tobichi store, expresses various kinds of winds, such as the fresh breeze, gusty wind, and gentle wind. We decided to use the artworks with bright, spring-like tones for this “spring” edition. We hope you can always have these humorous and story-telling artworks with you — with the facial expressions changing in the wind and the flow of the animals’ hair — as your techo.

Please Read Before You Buy

In order to provide you with the most satisfaction for your product, we've compiled a list of warnings, potential issues, and tips to keep in mind for this particular product. Please be sure to read this information carefully before placing your order.

Actual specifications may vary from listing

Each item is individually assembled and sewn by hand by a factory worker. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but there may be slight differences.

Color and print may vary slightly

This material is first printed or dyed and then later sewn onto the cover. While colors are designed to be consistent, there may be uneven coloring or slight shade variances between covers. This may also happen across a single cover, such as a pocket compared to the rest of the cover. In addition, on rare occasions, there may be small black or white dots visible on the print. This is an unavoidable aspect of the manufacturing process.

Cover may contain variations in stitching or loose lining

Due to the structure of the cover that opens flat 180 degrees, exterior stitching areas may appear puckered and lining material may be loose.

Pen holders are rigid at first

The pen holders are rigid at first, making it difficult to insert pens. You can speed up the breaking-in process by rolling the pen holders in your hand.

Pen holder fits pens up to 13.5 mm wide

The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2 mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free Hobonichi Store Exclusive. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5 mm (0.53”) in diameter.

Avoid storing in hot and humid places

Please avoid storing your product in hot, humid places or placing it atop other objects for long periods of time as this may result in lower quality and color stains.
