Seth, who came all the way from Seattle, is using the Hobonichi Techo for the first time. He heard about it from a friend and decided to stop by during his trip.

He’s a fan of MOTHER and plans to visit the MOTHER 2 (Earthbound) exhibit at Hobonichiyobi in Shibuya afterward. Thank you for spending a day filled with Hobonichi!

They've shared photos of the Hobonichi Techo display at their Takasaki store! Choosing a planner in your lucky color might be a great idea!

Buyer Ms. Shinagawa recommends pairing the Colors Lemon Water Weeks with Keiko Shibata’s cover. 'The refreshing light blue exterior is my top pick. Adding Keiko Shibata’s cover makes it even cuter,' she said.

During our business meeting, I visited the Isesaki store, and as expected from a specialty store, they had an incredible variety of stationery. There were so many fun sections that I could spend hours browsing.

Personally, I was really intrigued by their original glass pen ink inspired by Gunma’s hot springs!

「インクの見本と、その日の気分を表す引用です」

これまた、なんとおしゃれな…！
鮮やかな赤のインクのしぶきが
目に飛び込みます。

インクを直接手帳に垂らすと、
さすがに乾いたあともページが
シワになってしまうので、
厚みのある他の紙にかけて、
後から貼っているんですね。
これなら、もし失敗しても
残念な思いをしなくてすみます。

つけペンやガラスペンを使っていると、
あっ、インクこぼしちゃった！
と焦る場面もあったりするのですが、
デザインとしてあえて活かすのも手ですね。

また、お気づきでしょうか。
かっこいいペンが置かれているページに、
模様が描きこまれています。
日本でいうところの七宝柄ですが、
もちろん、世界各地で見られます。


Here's a look at Marina's techo from South Africa.

"Ink swatch and quote to describe the day."

How stylish is this! The vibrant splash of red ink really catches your eye.

To avoid wrinkling the pages, she drops the ink onto thicker paper first and then attaches it to her techo. This way, if anything goes wrong, there's no need to worry.

When you're using dip pens or glass pens, there are moments when you accidentally spill some ink and panic. But you can actually turn that into part of the design!

And have you noticed? On the page where she's placed that cool pen, there's a pattern drawn in. It's a geometric design known as "Shippo" in Japan, but it can be found in many cultures around the world.

とにかく賑やか。
このシールの数、豊富さ。
すごいでしょう？

感心したのが、あいた隙間をシールで埋める
という貼りかたじゃないんです。
シールをたっぷり貼ったあとに、
カラフルなペンで書き加えてますね。

きっとSezinさんは、この工程が
一番好きなのではないでしょうか。
リズミカルな手つきで、
ピッ、ピタッ、ピッ、ピタッ、と
びしびし貼っているんでしょうね。

楽しさにあふれています。

"Little explanations of my day and stickers."

Her monthly calendar pages are incredibly lively. Just look at the number and variety of stickers she uses--amazing, right?

What impressed me was that she doesn’t just fill in empty spaces with stickers. After placing plenty of stickers, she adds even more detail with colorful pens.

I bet this is the part she enjoys the most. You can almost see her rhythmically placing the stickers--tap, tap, tap, tap.

Her pages are bursting with the same joy you find in a pop-up card.

わかなちゃん、にしもとさん、ラケルが
がんばっています。

にしもとさんは何度もアメリカに
出張に行っていますが、
9月1日にイベント会場で販売をするのは、
今年がはじめて。
きのうの誕生日に引き続き、
記念すべき日になりました。

さて、こちらも、
アメリカ在住のTomokoさんの手帳です。

「毎日の睡眠時間のグラフを
見るのはいいですね」

weeksの年間カレンダーを使っています。
ページの上と下にご注目。
4〜8時間の1時間ごとに、
目盛りが刻んであります。

毎日眠った時間のところに点を打ち、
それらを結んで折れ線グラフにしているんですね。

睡眠時間だけでなく、
勉強した時間や体重の増減を記録するのにも、
役に立つテクニックだと思われます。

Tomokoさんの手帳は、
見出しの付けかたが見事！
月ごとのシールと文字のスタンプを組み合わせて、
こなれたデザインに仕立てています。

このようにぴったりのシールが見つけられなくても、
マスキングテープを使えば、
同じようにできるかもしれません。

英語では、装飾用のマスキングテープは
"washi tape"といいます。


Los Angeles is open too! Wakana, Tsubasa, and Raquel are working hard over there.

Although Tsubasa has traveled to the U.S. for work many times, this is her first time selling at an event on September 1st. Following her birthday yesterday, it’s become a special day for her.
Now, let's take a look at Tomoko's techo from the U.S.

"It's nice to see a graph of my daily hours slept."

She uses the yearly calendar in her Weeks. Notice the top and bottom of the page?there are marks for every hour from 4 to 8 hours of sleep.

Each day, she marks the hours she slept and connects the dots to create a line graph. This technique isn't just useful for tracking sleep; you could also use it to record study hours or track weight changes.

Tomoko's techo is also impressive for the way she adds headings. She combines monthly stickers with letter stamps to create a polished design.

Even if you can't find the perfect stickers, you could achieve a similar look with washi tape".

For about two hours after opening, people were constantly coming in, and it was quite crowded, but things have calmed down in the afternoon.

Feeling relieved, I had lunch with Raquel! We had delicious burritos!
