in the 2019 Hobonichi Techo lineup!

Here are the books in the 2019 Hobonichi Techo lineup. It’s good to match the book type with your goals for using the book.

Our big addition this year is the aptly-named Large Hobonichi 5-Year Techo. This new A5 book is twice the size of the A6 book, which debuted last year with great success. The larger size is great for users who want to fill their entries with more content.

Also new this year is the Chinese A6 Original Hobonichi Techo. We’ve done our best to keep the book true to the Japanese A6 Original techo while translating everything into Simplified Chinese to make it comfortable for Chinese users.

*The Simplified Chinese Hobonichi Techo will only be available for sale in China. You can find this item on WeChat or Tmall through our official account, Hobonichi1101. More information is available on our official Hobonichi Techo Weibo account at Hobonichi1101.

Available again this year is the Avec book set, which splits the standard A6 or A5 Hobonichi Techo into a 2-book set (January-June and July-December). The Avec offers the same daily pages in smaller, lighter books.

Weeks are available in two types: the standard version and the Mega, which contains 3 times the number of blank graph memo pages in the back of the book. The standard version already has 70 memo pages, but the Mega is for users who want plenty of blank paper to use without worrying about running out.

Similar to last year, the Planner is again available with an alternate version of the book that features the Steiff teddy bear logo on the cover, allowing you to pick between that and the Arts & Science logo.

Page design changes

Next let’s take a look at some of the changes and improvements to the content of the books.

Updated design for monthly start page

The A6 Original and A5 Cousin have new monthly start pages. What used to be a lined page has been changed to a blank page with monthly quotes in Japanese pulled from works of literature and poetry. These quotes help users feel the aura of the current season.

This year’s pamphlet is illustrated by the beloved manga artist Wisut Ponnimit (also known as Tam-kun) from Thailand. This special illustration is so cute you can hang it up on your wall.
