Kasanari Night-to-MorningA5 Size (fits Cousin)
Popular for their mesh textiles, Pottenburn Tohkii created this striking sun-themed pattern, with its interlocking circles, in a small workshop in Kyoto. The color scheme blends the bright yellows and whites of the morning with the salmon pinks of sunset.
Tokiko Nakajima, Pottenburn Tohkii’s designer, was first inspired to use these unique materials in clothing when she saw netting at a home improvement store. This cover weaves an intricate pattern over their trademark mesh. Kasanari, or overlap, is another theme of this design—while these beautiful colors never appear in the sky at the same time, here the deep blues of the night and the pale blues of the morning are allowed to meet in shapes that themselves recall the sun and the moon.
Three brightly colored threads are woven into the base mesh, giving the cover an extra feeling of depth.
The mini-pocket on the exterior is a nice touch.
The zipper pull is the same lemon yellow as the pocket.

Each and every cover is individually sewn by a factory worker hand-operating a sewing machine. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but there may be slight differences.
- Pattern alignment varies by cover
The patterned material has not been aligned to a specific layout, so the placement of each design will vary by cover. The cover will not be an exact replica of the one in the product photographs.
- Interior of cover may be loose
The interior of the cover may not be perfectly taut due to limitations during the manufacturing process.
- Pen holders are rigid at first
The pen holders are rigid at first, making it difficult to insert pens. You can speed up the breaking-in process by rolling the pen holders in your hand.
- Sliding no-slip pens into the pen holder
Pens with rubber, non-slip grips may be difficult to slide into the pen holder.
- Maximum pen width of 13.5mm for pen holder
The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free bonus gift with select Japanese-version Hobonichi Web Shop products. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5mm (0.53”) in diameter.
- Overstuffing the cover may result in tearing or damage
This cover is designed to store tools, documents, and other stationary together with the planner book. Attempts to close the cover when it contains too many items may damage the fasteners or material. Please avoid storing more than the cover can hold.
- Outer pocket is for decoration only
The small pocket on the cover exterior is for decorative purpose only. Please do not force items into the pocket.
- Sharp objects may unravel threads
Threads protrude from the material, so please be careful not to catch sharp items such as a pen tip under them as they may unravel.
