These four comic and art books are by artist Yuichi Yokoyama, who collaborated with us on the 2017 Spring Hobonichi Techo Weeks cover, Moss.

Yokoyama’s works uniquely portray the passage of time, with fragments of comic strips, powerful onomatopoeia, and wordless storytelling. His work is internationally acclaimed in the art and fashion worlds for its unique worldview, which surpasses the boundaries of comics.

Here are the four books available in our lineup:

This newest work by Yuichi Yokoyama is the sequel to “The Room of the World Map”. The title Iceland does not refer to the the country, but the story takes place in the far north corners of the world. It features a world filled with beautiful ice, giant powerful sharks, wind-resistant taxis and the men who drive them, extra-detailed drawings of watches, and other depictions of detail in the unique world of Yokoyama. The extra-large book is A4 size.

This oversized B4 collection of comics includes works featured in the renovations and window displays of the Hermes shop in Isetan Shinjuku, pieces inspired by modern art museums, projection mapping, and other work released in 2014 and 2015. The comic “Roy” is also featured on the Weeks Special Box also on sale in the Hobonichi Store.

This hardcover art book contains a spotlight of works by Yuichi Yokoyama, who is gaining popularity all over the world. The full-color pages allow the viewer to get a feel of the unique world of Yokoyama. The cover features the same art as the cover of the “Moss” Weeks book.

Yuichi Yokoyama has created a new genre called “Neo Graphic Novels” which feature an all-male cast that never smiles. The unnerving men gather in an unnerving city in this unnerving collection, “The Room of the World Map” that will leave you feeling unnerved.
