Do you ever have moments where you think, “Blank pages keep piling up lately,” or “I have absolutely nothing to write about today”? (I know I do... all the time!)

If I were to pick one today, it would probably be “Ah, I can’t decide!” Now that the Hobonichi Techo 2027 lineup is officially live, I still can’t decide which cover to get. The more I look at them, the longer my wishlist grows, and I just can’t narrow it down to one!

Hello! For those of you who have already picked up your 2027 techo, you’re probably flipping through the pages right about now. With that in mind, allow us to give you a quick preview of one of this year’s bonus pages!



This page, titled “Useful Sign Language Phrases,” introduces simple, practical signs alongside thoughtful ways to approach communicating your feelings. The key point is how easy and memorable they are. it is.

Now, does this illustration style look familiar?



It was drawn by Taro Yabe widely famous for his beloved manga The Landlady and Me (published by Shinchosha).

Along with learning the hand gestures, be sure to pay close attention to learning the facial expressions, too! *Smile*

This bonus page is included in the Japanese-language editions of the Original, Cousin, HON, day-free, and Avec techos.

We met a customer today who mentioned that while they used a standard Weeks this year, they are switching to the weeks Mega for next year because it features roughly three times the number of memo pages! They have so many things they want to write down and paste into their book that even after carefully rationing their memo pages throughout the year, they still ran out of space!

Their plan for 2027 is to pair their Weeks Mega with a Clear Cover, tucking a PUPPET SUNSUN sticker inside so it stays visible as a fun little accent.

Even with all those extra memo pages, the Weeks Mega maintains a remarkably slim profile. It fits into regular weeks covers, and while it can be a bit snug, it also fits inside the weeks Clear Cover for Weeks.
(Please note that the Sneaker edition cannot be used with the Clear Cover due to sizing differences.)

The 2027 Weeks Mega lineup features nine cover additions across three distinct series: Colors (5 designs), Sneaker (2 designs), and Bow & Tie (2 designs). Every design is classic, practical, and versatile — making them a wonderful canvas for custom touches and personalizing!

Included inside every Hobonichi Techo 2027 book is a small illustrated card.



Inspired by theme of the Hobonichi Techo 2027 lineup, “LIFE GROWS.,” the illustrations on this card depict things that grow, develop, and foster deep affection over time. We were lucky enough to get a peek at the rough sketches created during the design process, so allow us to share a bit of its journey here!









“What are things that bring joy as they grow? Things that get bigger, take shape, expand, or show visible changes over time...”
At first, aside from the techo and acorn motifs, nothing was set in stone. Looking through the early sketches, you can see how ideas were gradually organized and brought together into a cohesive concept.

On top of that, the finished card actually has a fun little trick built into it!



The sparkling ring in the center can be popped right out of the card! The inner section stamped with “LIFE GROWS.” pops out as well. Once your techo arrives and you’re ready to start using it, why not try slipping the paper ring onto your finger?

Did you know that for the past few years, we’ve been distributing a free little leaflet at Hobonichi Techo retail spaces?

This year, from the techo team have created a luxurious, 27-page full-color booklet titled “The Hobonichi Techo Guide to Choosing & Using.” It’s available in both Japanese and English to help you pick your techo companion!



Tada! Look for the cute cover, which shares the exact same color palette as the Colors cover “Blue Parasol.”



The illustrations were drawn by Kanako Kagaya, an artist we previously collaborated with on a lovely Cover on Cover. Even the back cover is super cute...!



This booklet is packed with essential information tailored especially for those encountering the Hobonichi Techo for the first time, answering questions like:
・“What is the hobonichi techo?”
・“How should I choose one?”
・“How is everyone else using theirs?”



We also feature eight full pages showcasing real-life usage examples from our users!



On the very last page, you’ll find a “Techo Diagnostic Chart.” If you’re wondering which book format to pick for 2027, this chart is a great place to start!

You can find this booklet at stores that carry the hobonichi techo, including TOBICHI and Loft in Japan. Overseas stockists have the English edition available, so if you spot one, please pick it up and take a look!

The 2027 Moomin series techo Weeks is a special edition packed with Moomin magic inside and out! True to its “100% Moomin” concept, Moomintroll is right there on the front endpaper to greet you as soon as you open the cover.



Other beloved friends from Moominvalley also appear throughout many of the pages, including the Monthly Calendar and Bonus Pages.





At the bottom of each weekly page, we’ve included a special quote selected directly from the original Moomin novels—one for every week of the year. Featuring lines from a wide variety of characters, we hope you’ll enjoy encountering all of them as the weeks go by.

Hello, we’re bringing you the latest Hobonichi Techo 2027 launch news.

Yumi Kitagishi’s collection has been receiving great reviews again this year for the 2027 lineup. She's collaborated with us for a whole host of new items, but her first ever designed HON is proving to be especially popular.

At Tobichi Tokyo (Hobonichi's official retail store), entry on launch day was managed through an advance reservation system using digital numbered tickets.



In previous years, long queues would wrap around the store well before opening, leading to extended wait times. Thanks to everyone’s cooperation this year, the opening went wonderfully smoothly!
